Add to Memories Tell a Friend
12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. 13 When tempted, no-one should say, God is tempting me. For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. 16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

I was doing my bible study today, which happens to be in James Chapter one and that passage, for one reason or another just really jumped out at me. Temptation has always been an interesting issue, since I've not met one person who hasn't been tempted and very few who have always resisted temptation. Unlike myself when it comes to men... I guess this passage is just something to chew on for the rest of the day. I thought I'd share it, even with those who don't read the bible.

In other news...I've had a pretty slow day today. Thankfully work was relatively painless, though I did spend a lot of my free time trying to track down a second reception to sub in for the one I haven now. Cheryl is really great but can't work Saturdays for me anymore - or at least, once I find a receptionist she can't - and so I need to find someone willing to take calls, write down appointments and keep things organized. I'd be a complete mess without a receptionist, I'm sure.

Outside of that I'm simply lounging around tonight, reading a bit and then perhaps running to the store to pick up a couple magazines. I need the newest issue of National Geographic, at least.
